So today marks the end of my year long challenge. I'm a little tired having complete the final 286km over the weekend and am not quite sure how I feel about finally finishing 3755km in training and events. It's been a busy year between my challenge, full time work and completing three subjects towards my Masters degree, and it has been easy to lose sight of the bigger picture. To try and gain an appreciation of what I have achieved I thought I should take stock of what this challenge has entailed - so here goes!
3755km completed including 489km in events.
10 events completed in 8 months:
3 x 10km running events
City 2 Surf
3 x Half Marathons (21.1km)
1 x 85km ride and 2 x 100km rides.
I also competed as a part of a team in a local triathlon, completing a 500m swim in January.
A total of 209.5 hours of exercise in 12 months - averaging 4.2 hours per week (in addition to the 1 hour I spend with my Personal Trainer each week to ensure I am strong and remain injury free)
An average of 72.2km per week.
A total of $4519.50 raised for CARE Australia, including:
1 Trivia night raising raising $2342
2 "Ladies Nights" raising $366
Gained 5kg and then lost 5kg - you REALLY can't out train a bad diet!!
